Workers' Compensation

Act 862 of 1993 requires school districts to provide workers' compensation coverage for all employees. Our district has joined the Arkansas School Boards Association (ASBA) Workers' Compensation Trust Program. The third party administrator is Arkansas School Boards Association. Their address is P.O. Box 165460, Little Rock, AR 72216.

If you have any questions regarding a workers' compensation claim, contact our office at 870-353-4454 x 135.

The following steps must be followed when a job related injury occurs. Failure to do so may result in your claim for workers' compensation being denied.

  1. Notify your building principal or supervisor immediately.

  2. See the school nurse in order to complete an accident report.

  3. See Mrs. McDonald to complete Form N and to report the claim.

  4. Employee's Notice of Injury must be completed even if medical attention is not required.

  5. If medical attention is needed, IMMEDIATELY call 870-353-4454 x 135. An appointment is required and will be made with the designated physicians.

Employee Supplemental Insurance Information

Gurdon Public Schools partners with American Fidelity to provide supplemental health insurance options to personnel. Schools have unique needs that may not be met with a generic benefits plan made for private corporations. Since 1960, American Fidelity has focused on providing a different opinion for school districts and currently serves 4,300 districts across the country. American Fidelity is both the carrier and benefits provider. This is necessary in order to manage benefits education, enrollment, costs, and interaction with employees. By using one provider, employees also benefit from using a single online portal to file claims and manage their accounts.

Click here to access American Fidelity's Online Service Center.
