The cross country team ran in the Dragon Invitational this morning. We were very competitive and a number of athletes set new PRs. The future cross country team dominated in the mile division with a 1 -2 -3 sweep with Boston Orsburn 1st, Lyla Russell 2nd, and Brenner Williams 3rd.

-Getting to know our new Gurdon Primary School Interim Principal-
Mrs. Kim Riley is the new interim principal at Gurdon Elementary. She grew up in Gurdon and graduated Gurdon High in 2004. She received her bachelor’s degree from Ouachita Baptist University and recently received her master’s from Henderson State. She received her principal and SPED director license in May 2022. Mrs. Riley has served in several different capacities within the school district including ESL coordinator, classroom teacher, SPED teacher, and now as interim principal. Mrs. Riley and her husband, Victor, live in Gurdon with their four children. They attend church at Calvary Gurdon where Mrs. Riley is a musician and Sunday school teacher. Their family loves traveling, playing board games, and enjoying family movie nights.

Science is fun! Mrs. Russell's Chemistry students were challenged to test the limits of the surface tension of water. The winning group got 100 drops of water on the surface of a penny!
Order, order! The Honorable Kolby Harper presiding! We love it when our graduates come home. Judge Harper came to oversee proceedings in her sister’s English class this morning. We are thankful that our alumni continue to support our schools!
